Artists on Tour - Artist signing events held for members of the National club (KOCC.) They are held throughout the United States and occassionally Canada. Attendants can meet fellow club members, Hallmark artists and Hallmark personel. There are generally displays set up. Free give aways, door prizes and event exclusive purchasable items are usually available.

BNT - Box No Tag - Secondary Market Term used to describe a box in mint condition but missing the original attached price tag.

Club Edition - ornaments available for purchase by KOCC members only. Generally there are three ornaments offered per year.

Collectible Series - a succession of ornaments released as annual editions (one per year) over several years.

Collection - a group of similar or like ornaments released in one year that share a common theme.

Collectively Speaking - newsletter produced by Hallmark for distribution to local clubs.

Colorway - Unofficial term used by the Online Collectibles Guide to describe an ornament or other Hallmark collectible that has been specially painted by Hallmark. These items are highly sought after and therefore have high Secondary Market values.

DB - Damaged Box - Secondary Market term used to describe a box in poor condition.

Dream Book - Yearly catalog of Hallmark's current Keepsake ornaments and collectibles. The Dream Book contains pictures, descriptions and prices for most of the current years ornaments. KOCC members receive their copy in the mail approximately 2-3 months prior to their release to retailers (in July.)

KCC - Kiddie Car Classics

Kiddie Car Classics - Production line began in 1992.

KOCC - Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club - National club sponsored by Hallmark - Members are allowed to attend club events, receive the yearly set of Members' ornaments and have the ability to purchase the year's club edition ornaments.

Limited Edition - A piece scheduled for a predetermined production quantity.

Little Gallery - Production line introduced by Hallmark in the early 1970s that ended in early 1984. The line included figurines, plates, placques and decorative items primarily produced in pewter, porcelain and Australian Crystal. Prices for the pieces ranged from $12 - $80.

Local Clubs - Hallmark collectors' clubs at the local level. Most clubs are sanctioned by Hallmark and receive quarterly mailings that include prizes and promotions for the club. Local clubs also receive a copy of Collectively Speaking newsletter. You can request a list of local clubs in your state by contacting KOCC.

Magic Ornament - Line of Hallmark ornaments featuring light, sound, or motion. Originally introduced in 1984.

Membership Ornaments - Exclusive ornaments given as gifts to members of the KOCC - usually three per year.

MIB - Mint In Box - Secondary Market Term used to describe a box in great condition or "as good as new."

MIP - Mint in Package - Some ornaments and Merry Miniatures were packaged in sealed plastic bags. MIP is used for these to note that the item is still in the sealed plastic bag.

MM - Merry Miniature

NB - No Box - Secondary Market Term used to describe an item that is missing the box in which the item was originally packaged.

Premiere - Hallmark store event featuring the "unveiling" of the current year's ornament line. The event usually includes a Premiere Exclusive - a piece available to purchase during Premiere only. (Depending upon how many the stores order you can usually purchase these pieces after Premiere as well.) In recent years, KOCC members have been given free gifts during Premiere.

REACH Promotions - Originally running from 1989-1995 and re-established in 1998; retailers offer a set of five items, one item per day available with a minimum Hallmark purchase.

Room Hopping - During Hallmark events many Secondary Market Dealers set up "shop" in their hotel rooms. Event attendees go from hotel room to hotel room viewing and buying from the various sellers.

Secondary Market - Source for buying and selling collectibles no longer available through retailers. Prices are determined by the principle of supply and demand.

Secondary Market Dealer - Persons or businesses offering large inventories of past year collectibles for sale on the Secondary Market. Check out our Secondary Market Dealers page.

Secondary Market Value - The value of the item based on the going prices in the secondary market.

Showcase Ornaments - Collection of ornaments offered from 1993-1996 featuring traditional designs or special production materials. They were available through Hallmark Gold Crown stores only.

Trimmers - Tree decorations which are not part of the Keepsake ornament collection. They are not boxed and are generally lower in price. See the Trimmer section of the Online Collectibles Guide.

Unannounced Series - a collection of ornaments relased in consecutive years that are not part of an "official" series; but are connected by theme. Ex: Coca Cola, Tonka
